Writhed Hornbill Aceros leucocephalus

Category: ENDANGERED
Status: Endemic
Habitat/Distribution: Restricted to Mindanao, Dinagat, Camiguin Sur 
Habitat / Behavior: males - 30 1/2", females - 27"; Noisy, in pairs or in small groups, in forest , but may be seen in clearings  up to 1200 m. Does fly above the canopy but may be seen gliding alternating with flapping flight, crossing valleys. A male feeding his walled-up mate has been recorded in March in Mindanao.

Call is  a single note or series of notes of loud nasal notes auuk repeated every 1.5 sec given usually while perched. (THF & RSK: R. Kennedy recordings)
