| Common Names: Eastern Saurus Crane Discoverer: Blanford, 1895 Category: VULNERABLE Habitat/Distribution: Northern India, east to southwestern China, southeast Asia, northern Australia and the Philippines (used to be found in marshes and plains of northern and central Luzon - Kennedy, 2000) Description / Behavior: About 152cm, Destinguished from other species by it's massive size and red skin on the head. It has a high pitched call, louder then any other crane.
