| Common Names: Discoverer: Sibley & Monroe Category: RARE Status: Endemic Habitat/Distribution: Luzon (Beguet, Camarines Norte, Kaliga Apayao, Mountain, Nueve Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya) Habitat / Behavior: L 12 1/2"; Can be found on the edges of wetland, gardens, drier cogon grasslands, logged over areas, tree plantations. Very secretive and elusive; observed to migrate within the island (intra-island migration); seasonal: January, May, October, and November. Clutch is 3 to 5 eggs, whitish tan and spotted with reddish brown and purple. Call is a harsh, raucous tikling tikling tikling often with several birds calling at once.
