Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal softrays (total): 8-8; Anal spines:
3-3; Anal soft-rays: 5-5. Fresh specimen color dark green dorsally, whitish
on sides, and overcast with brassy or golden, especially on belly; top of
head & snout blackish with pearly epidermal spots also on suborbital
& opercle; fins pale or with roseate flush. 11 scales from nape to dorsal;
2.5 scale rows between ventrals & lateral line. Wide short snout without
prominent protuberances. Max. size: 31.5 cm TL |

Described from specimens, 18.2 - 24 cm, collected from the type locality
Dansalan, Lake Lanao, Mindanao (1907, 1921). The longest and bulkiest carp
of the lake, but not especially prized for food. Caught with gill nets (Ref.
2929). Still caught in the lake from 1963 to 1964 (Ref. 10885). No specimen
was caught during the 1994 expedition (Ref. 10888). Also Ref. 280, 3881. |
