Katapa-tapa (Puntius flavifuscus)

Distribution: Lake Lanao, Lumbatan, Mindanao, Philippines.
Description: Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal softrays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft-rays: 5-5. Color dark blackish brown dorsally, paler on sides, yellowish brown on belly; fins dusky. Low dorsal profile with hump behind nape. 9 scales between nape & dorsal. Resembles C. katolo but with shorter pectorals & ventrals, fewer scales between dorsal & head, & different coloration.

Max. size: 10.5 cm SL

Common Name: Katapa-tapa
Comments: Type specimens were collected at Lumbatan, Lake Lanao, Mindanao (1921).
