ENDANGERED Status: Single- island endemic found only in Mindanao. Habitat/Distribution: Rare distribution in high elevation of Mt. Apo, Mindanao. Hosts/ Plants: No Information Habitats/Behavior: No Information Threats: Habitat Destruction and over-collection Interesting Information: This species is considered a relic of the Ice Ages and can only survive in high elevations of Mt. Apo. A recently discovered species (1977) that seems to be limited to the Mt Apo vicinity on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. May be threatened with habitat destruction. Locally abundant where found. Currently many populations occur within the confines of a national park (on Mt Apo ), offering some degree of protection, but surrounding colonies do not have such protection.
