Discoverer: Siphia platenae (Blasius,1888). Siphia erythacus (Sharpe 1888); Cyornis paraguae (Mcgregor,1906); Siphia erythaca (Blyth,1847) Category: ENDANGERED Status: ENDEMIC Habitat/Distribution: Restricted to the lowland forests of Palawan. Habitat / Behavior: L 4 1/4"; It lives singly or in pairs fairly close to the ground to the ground, particularly among tangled rattan and old spreading vines. It is very site faithful. It's call is a high pitched but harsh "tseeee-tchawww". It's other distinguishing feature is it's bright orange-rufous tail. 11cm. Threats: habitat loss Interesting Information: It can be see along the Balsahan river at Ihawig.
