| Common Names: Discoverer: Bourns and Worcester, 1894 Category: VULNERABLE Habitat/Distribution: Basilan as well as Mt. Kitanglad and Mt. Mckinley on Mindanao Island Habitat / Behavior: L 10 1/2"; a medium sized brown down, sexes similar, differs from Dark-eared Brown Dove by having a darker hind neck.Generally found in forest, singly or in pairs, usually in middlestory or canopy. These are found in the lowlands. AA nest of loosely arranged sticks placed in the fork of a small diameter branch containing 2 young was found in April. The call is a short and fast deep resonationg boot hoot toot toot-toot-toot-toot-toot lasting about 1 sec. it accelerates with shorter spaces between each call (RSK: R. Kennedy recording)
