Loggerhead Turtle Caretta caretta (Linnaeus, 1758)

Habitat/Distribution: according to the 1994 IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals: Philippines
Region IV: Palawan
Region V: Albay
Region VI: Negros Occidental, Antique
Region VII: Negros Oriental
Region VIII: Southern Leyte
Region IX: Basilan
Habitat / Behavior:  Loggerheads live in continental shores of warm seas, common in shallow waters, but it also lives around some islands. Soon after the breeding season ends females leave for their distant feeding grounds.
Diet: Primarily carnivorous by nature. It eats jellyfishes, crustaceans, conchs, clams, coelenterates, sponges, squids, fishes and sea urchins.
Threats: Accidental drowning in fish nets.
