Philippine Leafbird (Chloropsis flavipennis)

Discoverer: Tweedale, 1878          
Category: ENDANGERED
Status: Endemic
Habitat/Distribution: Leyte, Mindanao, Cebu (probably extinct or nearly so)
Habitat / Behavior: L- 7 1/2"; Very difficult to see in forest and forest edge; from lowlands up to  1500m, single or in pairs. Usually located first by it's call in the upper canopy. Reported to breed in June and August.

Call is a loud 2-note whistle chick weeeep apause between notes, lasting about 1 sec and repeated every 2 or more sec. Also a 3-note whistle chick-ur-treet with a slightly faster rhythm than the familiar Halloween saying "tric kor treat" (RSK: R. Kennedy recording)
