| Common Names: Balud (Pilipino) Discoverer: Whitehead,1896 Category: ENDANGERED Habitat/Distribution: Mindoro forest from 700-2,000m Habitat / Behavior: Males -18", Female - 16 1/2"; Mostly arboreal and seldom decends to the ground, seen in pai or in groups of threes and fours. The largest Imperial pigeon, sexes are similar. Voice call consists of 2 syllables, deeper and more resonationg than other imperial pigeons on Mindoro. Threats: Hunting, habitat destruction due to logging Conservation Efforts/Measures: Haribon Foundation
