| Common Names: Balud (Pilipino) Discoverer: Mearns, 1905 Category: VULNERABLE Habitat/Distribution: pickeringii langhornei is endemic to west Bolod Island and pickeringii palmasensis is endemic to Palmas Island Habitat / Behavior: L 16"; This is a small-island species that may travel between islands in search of fruiting trees. It is reported to eat leaves, which maybe the reason it can survive on small islands.. Breeds on Ursula in April. Nests are loose arrangements of twigs in the middle and upper canopy.
Voice call is a deep resonating oot aaaooohhh the first note clear, lasting
0.2 sec, the 2nd long drawn out, wavering in the middle and lasting about
1.2 sec. The notes are separated by a 0.5 sec pause (RSK: R. Kennedy
