| Common Names:
Discoverer: Ripley & Marshall,1967 Category: ENDANGERED Status: ENDEMIC Habitat/Distribution: Lowland Habitat, Luzon Habitat / Behavior: L 4 1/2"; Lives singly or in pairs in dense second growth, especially climbing bamboo in the understory below 700m. Secretive, perching motionless usually below 5m from the ground with occasional rapid but short flights from perch to perch. Birds with enlarged gonad and stub-tailed fledglings recorded in May.
Song is a faint high-pitched 2-3 note whistle, wau he or wau he hu or he
hauww repeated every 4-5 secs, often for several minutes (THF & RSK:
