Mt. Data Forest Frog Platymantis subterrestris (Taylor)
Common Names: A frog

Status: ENDEMIC and Rare
Habitat/Distribution: Reported from Benguet and Mountain provinces, Luzon
Habitat / Behavior: A small Platymantis with yellow and rown areolations in groin region and on hind limbs. This is the only hazalea-Group Platymantis recorded at an elevation of 2,250 m in montane forest. The advertisement call of the male was recorded at Mt. Data, Mountain province, 18 July 1997, at a temperature of  16ºC. Eight specimens were added to the five existing specimens during their field trip to Benguet and Mountain provinces on 18-19 July 1997.
Threats: Habitat loss due to progressive harvesting of the forest trees.
Interesting Information: SVL 21-32 mm; montane forest; oviparous; arboreal, nocturnal
Conservation Efforts/Measures: Not known.
