| Other Names: Common Names: ahas Category: Endemic and common Description: Snout-vent length for adult male and female respectively are 366 and 395 mm. The body is cylindrical, the head scarcely distinct from the neck and snout short and broadly truncate. The eyes are small. There are 8 upper labials, three of which border the eye. Usually two anterior temporals are present. There are 17 scale rows at midbody; 142 to 164 ventrals and 33-59 subcaudals are not paired and the anal plate is undivided. It's color in preservative, above (dorsal view), the color is light to dark brown with somewhat indestinct darker, vertebral and dorsolateral lines. Below (ventral view), the color is creamy to whitish with numerous dark brown to blakish spots, usually triangular in shape, and with a series of small whitish spots along the lateral edge of each ventral. Habitat: This ground species in original,secondary growth, coconut and abaca groves. It may be in duff or under rotting logs or debris. Distribution: Two subspecies are recognized, one recorded from Luzon, Polillo and Mindanao, and the other from Negros, Cebu, Tablas, Masbate, Caluya, Guimaras, Pacijan, and Inampulugan Islands.
