Discoverer: Schlegel, 1863                                        
Category: CRITICALLY ENDANGERED
Habitat/Distribution: Accidental visitor - 2 visits recorded in Luzon. One has no data and the other on May 1, 1905 from Manila Bay. May now be extinct. Poorly known but formerly found on sea coasts. Breeds in northeastern China, winters in Thailand with scattered records on Moluccas, Borneo and the Philippines.
