Habitat/Distribution: Mindoro
Habitat / Behavior: Diet: Insects and invertibrates. A ground brid; a poor flier; moves from branch to branch by hopping or gliding; probably solitary TL: 17" (male) and 19 1/2(female); secretive, skulks in dense vines and foliage in understory and canopy of virgin and advanced second growth up to 750m. More often heard then seen.

Call is a loud resonating series of 5 to 9(-+) hooot hoot hoot...., th 1st note louder and longer, lating about 0.4 sec, followed by a distinct pause of 0.5 sec before the final 8 notes, which descend slightly and become softer. The series lasts about 4 to 5 sec and can be repeated about every 7 or 8 sec over several minutes. (RSK & THF: B. King and P. Morris recordings)
